CEO: A Year In Review 2024
As the clock winds down in 2024, I’ve taken a moment to reflect not just on our wins, but also on the elements that have challenged us on our 2024 journey.
“SUCCESS is defined as achieving results wanted or hoped for” and in the words of Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock, “Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.”
To achieve success in 2024 we embraced change by disrupting our ways of working improving our organisational structure and driving deep introspection of our processes and operational agility.
- We undertook a series of restructuring improvements which provided enormous benefits in terms of cross skilling and upskilling our employees.
- Our commitment to service excellence and client relationships was reaffirmed through multi-year renewals with our key partners.
- We successfully delivered in record time, a major BSS modernisation project (Kabusha) at Cell C.
- We strengthened our Sales and Marketing organisation by bringing on board a highly experienced new team.
- We focused on progress, step by step, with a quest for constant and never-ending improvement.
- We revitalised our product roadmap with a strong focus on cloud adoption going into 2025.
- We modernised our engineering and DevOps environment by evolving our tech-stack to align with industry best practises and market demands.
- We embraced automation with a drive to amplify impact across all spheres of our business.
ACHIEVEMENTS & HIGHLIGHTS
This allowed us to enjoy the following results:
- Presented with the following awards by Cell C and Huawei for the Kabusha project:
o “Best Technical Team”,
o “Best Maintenance & Support Team” ,
o “Outstanding Contribution for Kabusha” - Improved skillsets across our business, allowing us to move faster and at a higher standard of service to our clients
- Our first ever MVNO Nation and Novacom Summit industry events allowed us to meet and engage industry leaders and forge new opportunities for collaboration in 2025.
- Improved operational efficiencies across the business, resulting in improved CSAT and NPS scores across our client base.
- A successful presentation in Spain where we delivered our annual plan outlining our 2025 mission.
We had a wonderful year-end function in the South African bushveld with the whole VAS-X team, where year-end awards were handed out and a variety of team activities were held, including a proudly South African cook-off.
Without reflection on the past year, it would just pass as nostalgia and I did provide myself a few solitary moments at one stage of the evening to reflect on my 18-month journey with this incredible team, business unit, the Lumine Group, and marvel at how far we've come as a business in breaking down barriers, strengthening relationships and delivering on our vision of consistency in building for growth.
In closing, as we embrace 2025 I would like to leave you with our revised vision;
